The Optometric Associates of Southern Maine Story
Optometric Associates of Southern Maine started as Bolduc Eye Care in 1940. Doctor Robert Bolduc and his son operated the practice for decades before Dr. Robert Bolduc Jr. passed the torch to Dr. Eric Lehouillier in 2021. Our change in name reflects a small change in philosophy. Our vision for the future has grown from the small family practice we began, to a larger, cooperative practice with a team of dedicated and empathetic experts able to serve a wider range of needs for more patients. We’re the same friendly and empathetic optometric office as ever, the only thing that has changed is which of our doctors owns the office and our name.
Optometric Associates of Southern Maine offers children’s eye exams, comprehensive eye exams for adults, contact lenses, eyeglasses, and dry eye care. They also diagnose, manage and educate patients about age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye diseases.
Our team of doctors offers patient-centered care for patients starting at any age. They believe in doing whatever is needed to address the needs of the individual, including answering questions and providing support. Proper eye care can improve one’s quality of life and that is why the Optometric Associates team works hard to optimize patient eye health and vision.
About Dr. Eric Lehouillier
Dr. Eric Lehouillier has had a lifelong desire to help people. This drive leads Eric on the path to a medical career focused on helping people with one of their most important assets, their vision. After working at Bolduc Eye Care for nearly a decade, Doctor Eric Lehouillier purchased the practice from Doctor Bolduc in 2021 and updated the name of the practice to Optometric Associates of Southern Maine to reflect his updated vision for the practice. Eric believes every client deserves the utmost attention and service by everyone in his practice. He goes above and beyond to provide outstanding, professional eye care to every patient.
